At Pennine, we are dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for a broad range of pupils. Specifically pupils that are more suited to a smaller, personable, and nurturing environment, including those with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Pennine strives to provide meaningful opportunities for all pupils regardless of starting points through a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum which provides rich, concrete and fully encompassing experiences and a focus on developing resilience and preparing pupils for the next stage in their lives. This specialist curriculum is tailored to our pupils’ individual needs.
Our curriculum is broad, balanced and personalised to meet the needs of ever pupil. It provides opportunities for success in academic, creative, and vocational learning. Morning lessons focus on English, Mathematics, Science and Humanities, while afternoon sessions offer a carousel of creative and practical subjects such as Design Technology, Food Technology, Music, Art, Drama, PE, Outdoor Education, Careers, and Wellbeing. Every pupil follows an individualised learning plan designed to help them reachtheir full potential.

Relationships and Sex Education (RSE)
All pupils receive age- and ability-appropriate Relationships and Sex Education (RSE). This learning helps pupils to recognise, form, and maintain healthy relationships while understanding how to keep themselves safe.
Parents and carers can discuss RSE arrangements, including their right to withdraw their child from specific sex education elements, upon request.
For a full overview of RSE teaching by year group, please refer to our Relationships and Sex Education Policy, available on our website.
